I give the podcast with some comment on recent Apple event .
I get with the suggestion that while Apple has done a well thing by extending store hours and issuing ticket to those waiting in line of business to get an iPhone , even with these measures the vacation could be a quite a little if iPhone need is as great as many the great unwashed expect it to be . But hey , that ’s not your problem if you ’re the bestower rather than the receiver who has to stand in line for hours to meet their endowment . Your problem is buy the thing as Apple does n’t set aside you to purchase an iPhone for someone else . The solution is anApple Gift Card . Just buy it online , fill in the amount of an iPhone ( do n’t forget the taxation for where you experience ) , and give the gift that keeps on pass on ( in the form of today ’s cool smart phone and monthly service fee ) .
I then point out on the land of the App Store , where some developers are a bit bent out of shape that updates to their applications take an awfully farseeing time to appear . Our own Jim Dalrymple has the tale .
Finally , I disturb on the tender depicted object of Steve Jobs ’ health — an issue that has been cut up the news program media in the preceding several weeks . The New York Times’Joe Nocerareceived a call from Steve Jobsto discuss the affair and reported what he could , off the record . Newsweek ’s Dan Lyons ( the onceFake Steve Jobs)has a reactionthat will likely stir a chemical reaction from you .
In my public lecture with Jeff Carlson , we discuss MobileMe ’s highschool and lows . In a move out - of - the - average for such a tight - lipped fellowship , Apple began issue MobileMe condition reports about a week ago . As I compose this , MobileMe Update # 3has been put up and indicates that Apple has complete restoring Mail service to the 1 pct of MobileMe client who have been denied electronic mail functionality since the help launched .
In the roundtable give-and-take of iPhone applications , Jason , Roman , and Kelly scuttlebutt on these :
