A MacBook user reported Monday that his Apple laptop explode into flames , apparently because of a uncollectible battery . He said that the laptop electric battery had not been on last year ’s recall leaning .

According to an account posted to theMacTalk forumby an Australian MacBook owner discover as mattyb , the laptop was charging when his housemate woke him after get word the computer hiss and consider sess pour from the machine .

“ At first I thought that the lamp had fallen and set flak to the drapery , ” mattyb drop a line . “ As I have closer , I realized it was my [ MacBook ] … burn ! I pluck it up and go down on on it and swing it around to put the flaming out . The bookshelf it was sitting on was burn and there were a mates of magazines that were on fire too . ”

After put out the firing , mattyb noted that the laptop ’s assault and battery was vain and sunburn , “ so it ’s in spades the electric battery that burst and catch fire . The MacBook is melted on the bottom and seriously charred . ”

In an update later , the laptop possessor said that local Apple representatives had told him they would come to his house to collect the damaged social unit , replace it and might compensate him for prop damage . “ foreign thing is , there was no symptoms like excessive estrus or deformation of the battery or anything like that at all , ” mattyb said . “ I also checked quite a while ago to see if my battery was one of the recall unit . It was not . ”
