In my round - up of the calendar week ’s word , I note that the iTunes Store has met its goal of offering 1,000 moving picture rentals , 63 days after the promised deadline . But that ’s just one of a numeral of change to Apple ’s television offering — Apple TV owner are now able to buy movie directly from their set - top box .
I also take a feel at the saga of free Wi - Fi for iPhone owner at Starbucks . The coffee retailer is alternate its wireless service of process over to AT&T , Apple ’s partner in the iPhone biz . Last week , some users — including Macworld ’s Dan Moren — report that they were capable to get free Wi - Fi on their phones at select Starbucks positioning . As of this week , however , the free Wi - Fi has fell .
