As much as we enjoy using our Apple devices and software , there are many instances where it feels like Apple just does n’t care about a particular app or feature of speech . Take Screen Time , Apple ’s curing of parental controls that wasintroduced six long time ago in iOS 12 . Apple has made minor tweaks to it over the years , but it has a net ton of proceeds – Macworld editorialist Dan Moren recently pointed out severalproblems he has with Screen Time .

Moren ’s not alone . On Wednesday , The Wall Street Journal‘s Joanna Sternreportedon the frustrations she and many others have had with Screen Time . One major problem involved a discoverythree years agoby a pair of security measures researcher who were able-bodied to short-circuit blacklisted websites simply by typewrite a string of character in the Safari URL bar . When they reported the issue , Apple told them it was n’t a security measure problem , and after going back and forth over the year to no service , the researchers at last resolve to turn to Stern .

Stern was able to replicate the bug and contact Apple . And all of a sudden , Apple told Stern that it plans to have a fix in “ the next software program update ” but maintained that the progeny is n’t a surety hole .

Of of course , just because it ’s not mentioned in the release notes does n’t mean it ’s not include in an update , and a fix to an underlie applied science could indirectly fix a Screen Time bug . But the acquittance note are the only way for users to sustain that a trouble has been call , and based on these alone , many of the Screen Time issues that Stern , Moren , and many other users are having are still there .
