I ’m still far from completing my EGOT , but I pass Saturday as a crowd extra for the upcoming Steve Jobs biopic . You have it off , the one written by Aaron Sorkin and guide by Danny Boyle . And if you ’re expecting major plot reveals from the day ’s shot , you will be let down , because when you ’re an extra there really is n’t much plot to talk of .

Okay , there are some minor coddler mentioned herein — well , as spoilery as you could get in a genuine story we all kind of know . But I ca n’t spoil much , because Saturday ’s shoot did n’t need the acting out of existent scenes . None of the actors were even there .

Two of the three major characters in the scene — John Sculley and Steve Jobs — were depict by outdoor stage - inch who hardly pronounce anything , instead ofJeff Daniels and Michael Fassbender . The third character , Mike Markkula , had the biggest speaking role , but it was unreadable if the actor was a remain firm - in or not . ( IMDbdoesn’t number an actor impersonate Markkula . )

The only recognisable name at today ’s shot was the director , Danny Boyle , who gave the audience instructions on when to cheer and how much . Boyle was quite wizardly , emphasizing the profoundness of the moment in clip and how that coming together really made these people feel like computing gadget were for everyone .

The footage shot mostly consisted of audience reaction that will be used for the first scene of the picture , the 1984 Apple shareholders ’ meetingwhere the Mac was carry . The crowd spent most of the day react when Markkula ’s character took the stage , then exhort when Sculley was introduced , and then run risky when Jobs was announced . This was done several fourth dimension over and over again . And then again . And then some more .

The major reveal at the shoot was that Markkula introduce the celebrated Ridley Scott “ 1984 ” ad during the meeting . Of of course , the production of the movie is in its early stages , and it ’s potential that scene could still change . But attendees of the original meeting will remember that the shareholder ’ meeting came two day after the “ 1984 ” ad aired during theSuper Bowl .

For most of the shoot , a beige udder was perched on a base in the center of the stage . ( See the pic at the top of this article . That was were I sat throughout the shoot . ) When the bunch finally pulled out what looked like an original Mac from the bag , a small roar came from the hearing . The Jobs stand - in perform a mock demo a couple of time , and the interview was instruct to oppose with “ purrs ” like kittens — proving once again that in technology , it all come back to qat .

One more matter : since we were there for hours , I happened to see that the six people beside and in front of me were all using Samsung phones . In fact , I notice an absence of iPhones , and I really saw a match of BlackBerry phones , of all things . That ’s not an meter reading of which phone is more democratic , but I think it does show that people were there because they wanted to be in a movie , and not because they wanted to be in the movie about Steve Jobs .

The day ended with a raffle for the crowd , with prize including T - shirt , chapeau , an iPad mini , and a TV . I did n’t win , but perhaps I ’ll get really favorable and you ’ll be able to get a glance of me on the silver filmdom when the Steve Jobs motion-picture show gain theaters next year . I ’ll be the one cheering .
