Hewlett - Packard appointed a new administrator on Monday to lead the ontogeny of its webOS package , with former Palm CEO Jon Rubinstein taking on a broader role in the HP group that make PCs , tablets and handhelds .

The changes descend a week after HP ’s first TouchPad pad of paper , which runs the webOS , went on sales agreement in the U.S. The operating system is also used in HP ’s smartphones , and will make its way into microcomputer , printing machine and other ware , HP has said .
