For representative , we ’ve all take heed of “ burner ” devices — something cheap that hold no more of your personal datum than necessary , that you use temporarily and then trash or donate when you ’re done . Well , that does n’t help us Apple fans much , does it ? While it ’s true you probably wo n’t want to buy a new iPad just to throw it by after a slip to China or Russia , it turns out iOS is by and large inviolable enough that you may back up and wipe a gimmick before you leave , use it during your trip , and then erase it again when you get house , quick to restore to your previous backing .
