In that position , you may not require every app that you put in to be available to everyone who uses the same Mac . Open / Applications , either via Go to Folder , or by opening the master spirit level of your drive in the Finder and double - clicking the Applications folder .

Open a freestanding window with your app folder via the method acting noted above or navigating in the Finder throughUsers > full chronicle name > app .

Hold down the Command headstone and drag the app from the main Applications pamphlet into your personal one . ( You must hold down Command or macOS will create an alias or else of moving the app . )

You may be prompted to recruit an administrative password , or if you have a Mac with Touch ID , to formalise the move with a fingertip .

This does n’t prevent another user from set up the same app , if they have admittance to an installer or download , into the principal Applications booklet or for themselves , however .
