We have just set up a wireless internet that turn great . The circle up is PC / D - Link Modem / D - Link Wireless Router / MacBook . The printer is attached via USB to the wireless router . The printer works fine when attached to either computer , but I ca n’t cover it from the Mac when the USB is connect to the wireless router . I have enable sharing on both machines . But no fortune . Any mesmerism ? — Joy

There is usually some case of driver that ask to be installed to allow either the microcomputer to publish to a USB printer attached to the router . There should be like software that will permit the Mac to print to it as well .

The first thing I would do is make certain your wireless router has the latest microcode install . While this probably is n’t the causal agency of the problem you have , it should have annul other problems as you get things working .

If you ca n’t determine the manual for your wireless router , you should be able to download one directly from D - Link ’s entanglement web site . It should be fairly well documented on how to get things up and running . In some cases it should be similar to setting up a LPR character UNIX operating system pressman in terms of how you will talk to it . If this is the case , all you may require to do is to setup the pressman on the PC and the Mac as an IP - based printer .

If you are n’t able to get this to work by either reviewing the manual of arms or speak to D - Link ’s technical school support , there may be an choice . I know that Linksys has a USB print - server equipment that will link up to the printer on the USB link and then unite to your router via a RJ-45 ethernet link . After run away some setup package from the PC that you have , you should then be able to extend to it via a Mac as well . There are other gimmick from other vendors that will also supply this same case of functionality .
