I must admit that I was a bit lost when Steve Jobs unveiled the iPod Shuffle at Macworld Expo . Being a veteran iPod user , I like having an port and being able to choose what I desire to bet , when I want to play it . Now I am presuppose to allow a bubble gum pack sized gadget choose for me ? I was n’t so sure how that was go to go over .
The just thing about being wrong every now and then is that I can freely admit when I ’ve made a mistake — my first impression on the iPod Shuffle were wrong . On Tuesday good afternoon after Jobs ’ tonic , I packed away my iPod photo and put a full play list of Zakk Wylde on my new iPod Shuffle .
I got used to the Shuffle very quickly as it every which way went through songs . Not having an interface to well guide you to the birdsong of your selection was n’t as unmanageable as I think either . When I put my play list on the iPod , I did it in order ( as oppose to allow it to choose songs randomly ) , so by lay the iPod in playlist mode I was able to find the album and Sung I was looking for with comparative comfort using the forward-moving and back buttons .
As small as the “ even ” iPod is , I quickly recognise how convenient the laniard is that comes with the Shuffle . I be intimate the fact that I can put it around my neck and take the air around . Yes , there are cases for the iPod that grant you to do the same thing , but I was always strike it out of the case to go forward , back or choose another strain — with the Shuffle , I just click a clit and go .
The barrage life on the Shuffle has been really good so far , lasting a few days of normal use . I have memorise the put-on to being really pop — tire the same matter around your neck that Steve Jobs had around his just a few hours before . As I walked the show floor at Macworld Expo terminated unknown would take the air up to me , arrive at out and part touching the iPod Shuffle . I was astonied at how bold masses can be and sometimes I had a little bunch of people around me looking at it .
When I went back to the hotel later that sidereal day I got into the elevator with a Father-God and his three girls , probably all around 8 - 10 year old . When the girls examine the Shuffle they squealed and said , “ That ’s it , Daddy , that ’s the raw iPod . ” The girl , like everyone else that day came over and started touching the iPod , saying how much they want one .
The male parent , on the other side of the lift , was express joy and smiling at the three girls grabbing at my iPod while I shifted back and forth hear to get them to block off before they broke it . Funny was it ?
lastly the father enunciate , “ You ca n’t get one now , I ’m sure they are not in store yet . ”
As they got off the lift , it was my turn — I smiled and said , “ Oh , yes they are — the Apple Store on the corner has mess of them . ” The last thing I heard were the three girls screaming at their father for a raw iPod Shuffle — as the lift doors close , the father ’s smiled was gone . Now that was funny !
thing did n’t alter much as I flew to Anaheim on Sunday . Whether in the shopping mall , walking past Disneyland or eating dinner party , people are arrive up and inquire me a miscellany of questions about the iPod Shuffle . One interrogation that nobody has asked me yet is if I bear in mind that it has no interface — it ’s like they do n’t care at all .
