These day it is a bit of a fool ’s biz to attempt to write anything about Apple and Epic because it ’ll probably be out of day of the month by the time writer hit “ Publish . ” But such are the vicissitude of covering Apple .
Last hebdomad was quite the rollercoaster . lamentably , more of a seaside holidaymaker town kiddy coaster , one that ’s rickety but not in high spirits or degenerate enough to really hurt anyone if it goes off the rail , and just goes around and around in a midget , unimpressive circle .
Here are three newspaper headline from Wednesday , Thursday , and Friday of last week to give you an idea of how quickly this evolved .

So what wasthatall about ? It ’s a little hard to tell , even in hindsight , really . Apple seems to be have a tough clip coming to terminal figure ( literally and figuratively ) with recent legislation in the EU . When pick out with the company’sirate web log post about Spotifyjust days earlier , the society has the air of being just hours away from curling up with a box of wine to get on withthe depression form .
Denial ? “ We can just make the new rules so stinking no one will want to do it ! ” CHECK .
Anger ? “ Did Spotify ever thank us for make the App Store which , by the way , is the best thing ever ? No , they did not . ” CHECK .
Bargaining ? “ We now recognize that Epic did already say it would watch the rules after we require them if they would and they said they , okay , yeah , we will and we still sack their developer license anyway , so we ’re reinstating their permit which we should n’t have revoked in the first position . ” CHECK .
On the plus side , as fast as this ride is go we might get to the acceptance phase as ahead of time as the end of this week .

To say that Apple has not exactly been redact its practiced groundwork forward here is put it gently . It is fortunate for the ship’s company that few outside of the tech community of interests are probably take notice at anything more than a superficial storey – IS FORTNITE BACK Y / N – because who has time for this nonsense ? Even if you are compensate tending , it ’s probably not live on to impress your choice of smartphone because Tim Cook does not personally deliver your smartphone and sit around to gossip with you about it , the manufacture , and other topics of interest . If he or Phil Schiller or whoever save that Spotify post is a bit feisty about late jurisdictional policy enforcement actions , it ’s not going to stop most mass from love their iPhones .

And , again , that ’s dear , because it ’s not a swell flavour for the company . you may make all the analogies to game platforms you want , while they may be true , if you ask most consumers if they wanted to be able to see how they could get something tatty within an app by going to the app developer ’s web site , they ’re proceed to say , sure , give me the info , regardless of who makes that “ dependable and trusted marketplace ” that ’s “ an unbelievable business concern opportunity for developers . ”
We may have hit a temporary lull in the fighting here , but despite all the Macalope ’s jest about the stage of grief , Apple ’s likely not done by a long dead reckoning . Which is great because the horny one will not in person be satisfied until Apple and Epic are force to share a small Airbnb with overhead cameras ( before they’rebanned ) where they can lick out their issues .
