More reports are come out claiming that Apple ’s Maps has features that make it superscript to Google ’s Maps on iOS 6 .
Yesterday we looked into whether it is true thatApple ’s Maps are less of a data hog than Google ’s Maps . Today we are quiz the call that Apple Maps stores more data for purpose when you are offline , a ready to hand feature if you are traveling abroad and do n’t want to use up your data allowance .
We compared maps of Saint Malo in France , loaded up in an iPhone 4S escape iOS 5 and the iPhone 5 .
There are definitely differences in the amount of data put in . For example , when we studied the Apple Maps translation we could see eatery , bar and hotel entropy , Google Maps showed hotels , but trivial else . ( It should be note that Google had more hotel information than Apple , but then given thelack of specific information in Apple Maps , that is no surprisal right now ) .
Of course the important spot is road name . The Google Maps version show key road name , but band of empty roads , while the Apple Maps version showed all the road names if you surge in on the picture .
In neither case could we search for road names or route when the WIFi was off . However , with a bit of preparation , you may drop pins on the locations you design to inflict .
What really surprised us about Apple Maps was that when we throw to Satellite opinion , the Satellite map loaded , even in Airplane mode . This does n’t go on in Google Maps .
