A third employee had died from injuries triggered by an blowup at a factory of Foxconn in Chengdu , China , the ship’s company say Sunday . Initial findings show the blast was because of “ combustible detritus in a canal . ”

Taiwan - establish Foxconn is still working with Formosan authorities to investigate the root cause of the explosion . Operations at the Chengdu manufacturing plant have been suspended . Foxconn has also suspended production at its other manufacturing plant that carry out “ standardized processing functions . ”
Foxconn , a producer of products for companies like Apple , Motorola and Hewlett - Packard , has fare under fire in the past tense for its play conditions . Foxconn ’s Chengdu manufacturing plant produces iPads , according to a May report by the Hong Kong - based watchdog group Students & Scholars Against Corporate Misbehavior ( SACOM ) . SACOM estimates the piece of work force out at the factory to be 100,000 employees .
The May write up also said the occupational wellness and safety issues at the mill were “ alarming . ” Workers interviewed complained of constantly breathe in detritus at one of the campuses .
“ In the milling automobile department in Chengdu , some workers state they always breathe in the Al detritus . Workers in the polish department also complain that the section is full of aluminum junk , ” according to the report . “ Some workers notice that ventilation on shop floor should be improved . ”
Foxconn has said that its Chengdu manufactory is a new web site , still under construction .
Apple did not remark on how the incident would touch on product of Apple ’s iPad machine . But the plosion wo n’t in all likelihood lead to any delay in iPad production , because Foxconn has backup organisation to handle these variety of emergencies , said Jamie Wang , an psychoanalyst with research firm Gartner .
“ However , this blast come as another blow to Foxconn that further damage the party ’s icon , ” Wang articulate . “ Foxconn will have to pay more costs to better the factory working environment and guard . ”
