Apple , which already faces uncertainty over ownership of the iPad trademark in China , has filed a ailment demanding a local Chinese baggage vendor drop the EPAD trademark it uses on its products .
On Feb 2 , Formosan firm EBox Digital Technology Product receive a complaint from Apple , asking the fellowship to give up the EPAD earmark because it close resemble the iPad name , a spokeswoman with EBox said on Thursday . The charge had been filed through China ’s trademark office .
EBox is a maker of laptop computer baggage cases , and has been using the EPAD stylemark on its products . The company has no plan to apply the EPAD name for any electronics or lozenge devices , said the spokeswoman , who would only disclose her surname as Cheng .
Apple is already shut away in a legal battle with local Formosan firm Proview for ownership of the iPad earmark in China . The ongoing trademark difference over the iPad name threaten to ostracize sale of Apple ’s iconic tablet in China . A Proview representative has said Apple should pay $ 400 million for the iPad trademark . Some Formosan consumers have suggested Applerenameits tablet to deflect further legal natural action .
