Adobe has announce that it has rebranded itsCarouselphoto sharing app with a fresh name : Adobe Revel .

The rebranding has no straightaway wallop on current Carousel user , as only the program ’s name has changed , for now . subscription will not be regard .

update to the program , and all references to it on the Adobe Website and on theMac App Storewill now reference the fresh name . The program ’s Facebook page and Twitter ( @AdobeRevel ) accounting will also speculate the newfangled name . Revel documentation will retain some carousel references as they relate to the photo program library functions of the program .

A web log post by Revel ’s fourth-year product selling manager Chris Quek , posted 24 hours after its Lightroom 4 genus Beta announcement , state the reason for the name change . “ Revel means to take dandy pleasure or delight … and that ’s what we hope to do in the future as we continue to supply more functionality and playfulness to the app . In the future , you could require we will also be able to provide additional photography solutions on the newly named Adobe Revel political program . ”

The new Adobe Lightroom 4 beta also contain an export plug - in to Adobe Revel .

A minor update to the plan offers some lowly fix , including the addition of machine import from the iPhone or iPad Camera Roll to Revel and picture share-out via Flickr . The machine - import function lets you choose a luggage carrousel where all phone or tablet photos should lodge in . photograph taken with the Camera App or a third - party photo app will be imported into the selected carousel when Revel is activated and when you ’re in that merry-go-round .

While core aspects of the program remain the same for now , Adobe say the future will bring a change of new features to revelry , and that those improvements will take it beyond the erstwhile Carousel moniker .
